Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy

Compassionate, Evidence-Based Care for Women and Men

At our clinic, we provide expert pelvic health physiotherapy for both women and men in all stages of life. Whether you're recovering postpartum, managing bladder control issues, or dealing with pelvic pain or dysfunction, our experienced physiotherapists are here to help you restore function, reduce discomfort, and regain confidence in your body.

What Is Pelvic Physiotherapy?

Pelvic physiotherapy is a specialized branch of physiotherapy focused on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues of the pelvic floor — an essential group of muscles that support your bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs, and play a key role in core stability and function.

When these muscles are too tight, too weak, or not functioning properly, a wide range of symptoms can occur. Pelvic physiotherapy uses hands-on treatment, education, exercise, and lifestyle strategies to address these symptoms at the root.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do I need a referral to see a pelvic floor physiotherapist?
No referral is necessary. You can book directly with one of our trained pelvic health physiotherapists.

2. What can I expect during my first appointment?
Your physiotherapist will complete a detailed assessment of your symptoms, medical history, posture, and core function. With your consent, an internal pelvic floor exam may be recommended for accurate diagnosis but is not required depending on your condition and comfort level.

3. Is pelvic physiotherapy uncomfortable?
Your comfort is a top priority. All assessments and treatments are done with informed consent, and many techniques are external. You’ll always be in control of what happens in your session.

4. Do you offer treatment for men’s pelvic floor issues?
Yes! We offer pelvic floor physiotherapy for men, including care after prostate surgery, bladder issues, and chronic pelvic pain.

5. How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies based on your symptoms and goals. Many clients see improvement within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer treatment plan.

6. Is pelvic physio covered by insurance?
Pelvic physiotherapy is typically covered under most extended health benefit plans under “Physiotherapy.” We offer direct billing whenever possible.
